Tourism Developer / Anthropologist
Responsibilities/ Possible projects:
- Conduct studies for community tourism potential in the Tena area
- Record all potential tourist attractions in/near the communities
- Conduct interviews with community leaders to determine their desires in regards to the introduction of tourism
- Work with the Kallari leaders, communities and anthropologists, create sustainable community tourism program for selected communities
- Create a report on the impacts, costs and benefits of introducing a tourism program in the communities
- Evaluate feasibility of creating a specific tourism arm of Kallari, or benefits of working with established organisations
- Liaise with local tour operators to create combined packages
Requirements:
- Min time: 2 months
- Qualifications and/or experience in tourism and/or anthropology
- Experience developing environmentally and culturally sensitive tourism programs
- Desire to live in Tena and the communities for long periods
- Cultural sensitivity
- Adaptability
- Good command of Spanish
