Tourism Developer / Anthropologist


Responsibilities/ Possible projects:

  • Conduct studies for community tourism potential in the Tena area
  • Record all potential tourist attractions in/near the communities
  • Conduct interviews with community leaders to determine their desires in regards to the introduction of tourism
  • Work with the Kallari leaders, communities and anthropologists, create sustainable community tourism program for selected communities
  • Create a report on the impacts, costs and benefits of introducing a tourism program in the communities
  • Evaluate feasibility of creating a specific tourism arm of Kallari, or benefits of working with established organisations
  • Liaise with local tour operators to create combined packages

    Requirements:

  • Min time: 2 months
  • Qualifications and/or experience in tourism and/or anthropology
  • Experience developing environmentally and culturally sensitive tourism programs
  • Desire to live in Tena and the communities for long periods
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Adaptability
  • Good command of Spanish
